All voting stations are open from
10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Am I eligible to vote in the Election?
You are eligible to vote if you are: at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen, and have resided in Alberta for the 6 consecutive months immediately preceding election day and your place of residence is located within the City of Red Deer on election day.
Where do I vote on October 16th?
To determine your voting station, visit elections.reddeer.ca or call the Returning Officer at 403.342.8132. You must vote at the voting station designated for your place of residence.
Do I need to bring any information with me when I vote?
You must produce one piece of Government issued or authorized identification that confirms both your name and current address to vote.
What if I am unable to go to a voting station on October 16th, but still want to vote?
There are a three other voting options available to you, depending on your circumstances:
1. Advanced Voting:
All Advanced Voting will be on the following dates from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Red Deer Museum & Art Gallery (4525-47A Avenue):
- Saturday, September 30
- Friday, October 6
- Saturday, October 7
- Friday, October 13
- Saturday, October 14
2. Special (Mail-In) Ballots:
You may vote by Special Ballot if you are physically unable to attend a voting station or will be away from Red Deer. Requests can be made by calling 403.342-8132 or emailing . Special Ballots must be received by the returning officer before 4:30 p.m. on October 16, 2017.
3. At Home Voting:
Persons with a physical disability who cannot attend a voting station or who are dependent on accessible transportation (Action Bus) may request to vote at home on the same dates as the Advanced Vote. Requests can be made by calling 403.342-8132 or emailing .
Voting stations will be set up in nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and the hospital for residents to vote on Election Day.
